Transport Options to Activities
Activity overview
Booking trains
SBB is the national train company, and their website is the easiest way to check timetables (for buses as well) and connections. You can buy tickets online or at the train station.
BLS is the local train company. You can also use their website to book tickets and find information. The BLS Travel Centre in Kandersteg (at the train station) can help you with booking tickets. kandersteg@bls.ch
Both BLS and SBB have discounted tickets for groups of 10 or more. There is either a discounted group ticket, or a 1-day travel card for 15 CHF per person.
For groups with 10 or more you need to make a reservation.
Booking public buses
AFA is the local bus company. If you have a group larger than 10, you must register your trip with them via this link, to ensure there will be enough space on the bus.
The 1-day travel pass from SBB is often the cheapest option (15 CHF) for youth up to the age of 26.
You can book public buses through the SBB website. You can also buy bus tickets with cash from the bus driver, or at the train station.
The local Kandersteg bus lines (241, 242) are free if you are wearing your Scout scarf/neckerchief.
The bus line 230 to Adelboden (passes Blausee and Frutigen) is not free, and you will need to book tickets as described above.
Booking coaches
You can request a quote for a coach journey by providing the details to us. This can be useful for large groups on daytrips.
Additionally, you can book airport transfers for your arrival and departure from KISC.
