Volunteering at KISC
The KISC Solidarity Fund was created to support volunteer Scouts, who do not have the financial means to visit Kandersteg International Scout Centre (KISC). Diversity in the Staff team is one of the core pillars of the operations of KISC – with the definition of diversity being: economic background of the country of origin, geographical location, language, cultural background, age and motivation to volunteer at KISC and represent the values of Scouting.
The Fund is applicable to the following groups of volunteer Scouts visiting KISC:
- Short-Term Staff – volunteering engagement up to three months in Kandersteg
- Long-Term Staff – volunteering engagement between four months to one year in Kandersteg

KISC applies the WOSM NSO World Scout Event participation fees and categories. This categorization follows World Bank data (GNIpc, Atlas Method) and is therefore not determined by WOSM itself. You can read more in the link below.

The Scouts who are selected to volunteer at KISC receive further details about the implementation of the Solidarity Fund.

LTS from outside Europe for a position shorter than 6 months, will be offered up to 250 CHF travel reimbursement.
LTS from outside Europe for a position of longer than 6 months will be offered up to 500 CHF travel reimbursement.
